YashIt’s been awhile since I’ve written on this blog, but it’s been a long time since I’ve written on the topic of bicycles. When I started in the bike world, I had no idea about how important the cyclist and the pedestrian were to each other. As a former cyclist, I would often be surprised by pedestrians who would stop to ask me where I was going. I’m still amazed by that today.
This is a big topic and Ive been meaning to write about it for quite a while. Ive seen so many bikes become obsolete due to new technologies that are quickly superseding the need for them. Ive also seen so many bikes that are simply not worth the hassle of maintaining or repair. And there is a lot of work involved in maintaining, repairing, and making new ones too.
Today I’ve seen a ton of bikes getting replaced. But there is so much work involved in making new bikes that a lot of people just don’t care because they don’t see a need for it. In my opinion, the best way to prevent this is by getting more and more people to use less and less expensive, less-popular bikes.

I have heard of the word “phoenix,” but I can’t define it any further than that. It feels like a myth because it seems to imply that this mythical creature (or creature, as you may call it) would rise from the ashes. But in reality, phoenixes are said to be the result of a catastrophic event. They are not the result of the resurrection of a former human being. They are not even an act of resurrection.
phoenixes are not real. They do not exist. They are just a myth. That’s not to say that we need to stay away from them. We can embrace them and learn from them. And we can also learn from the stories of real human rebirth.
So if you’re looking to take your phoenix out on the city streets, look to our city’s public bikes, those adorable little red machines that take some of the hassle out of getting around town. In Phoenix, they are still a part of our transportation system, but they are also available to those who would like to give them a shot.
